The Queen of Light's Last Stand is a roleplaying game that asks a bit more from you than just rolling dice and describing action. The four roles, the Queen, the Knight, the Bard, and the Gloom, all have unique skills that will ask you to sing, recite a poem, give meaning to a symbol, or inspire your fellow players with a quote in order to use your abilities. In addition to this, you will also be rolling dice (specifically a d20 and a d10). The Queen of Light's Last Stand also features beautiful public domain art by Alexander Rothaug and Viktor Vasnetsov, and numerous random tables to help inspire your play.

Hey, I'm going to be playing your game for my podcast in a few days, it will be released on 3/11 on Beholder to No One's podcast.
I have a question in relations to the game. Is "The Gloom" the DM or is it just another player that's actively trying to get the other party members? I saw a review that rated this as a GM-less game, but couldn't find anything backing that up. Mostly just wanted clarification, I think we're going to be playing it where it's more GM-less/minor GMing but was just curious on what the intent was originally. The story sounds beautiful.

Hey that's awesome, I'm excited to hear it!
I don't think it's GMless, and I'd be interested to know how that reviewer came to that conclusion, but I'd definitely say that the GM role in QLLS is minor compared to the mainstays of roleplaying games. The Gloom is the GM, but the Gloom is also another player that has to share the spotlight with everyone else. The original intent was to nudge the GM to not expound for minutes on end about this, that, and the other thing. You know, not talk at the other players so much, but with them in order to tell a more interesting story.

Feel free to let me know if this is helpful, or if there's anything else you need. I'm glad you like the game!

Thank you that does clear things up! I'm excited to see where the story heads, because I'm going in with minimal planning and will probably just throw all the suggested creatures in the book at them (if we have the time) to see who wins! Thanks for the quick response!
